Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on June 1, 2015.

The tower symbolises the local Haynsburg tower, a typical landmark for the area. The grape refers to the viticulture in the area, with 16 grapes, one for each village in the municipality.

The cross refers to the cross erected on the highest point on the road from Haynsburg and Dietendorf, a former main road between Zeitz to Gera. The current cross dates from 1897, but there has been a cross on the spot for centuries.
